What is there already today to get with little hardware good sound in many rooms? Today the computer is the center, the music organ. More and more consumers are listening to the hard drive and playing the sound at best over a large hi-fi system.

But what would happen if your laptop or smartphone would stream the music from the Internet wirelessly to various active boxes in the apartment, of which a couple could also receive the TV sound analogously and aufspppeln? Minimalist and simple, but good.

Conclusion: Wireless active speakers have potential

The Audio Pro Living LV 2 boxes come in an elegant red leather outfit. It is the smallest set in the test, but in terms of depth it leaves the other candidates behind. Only the Dynaudio Xeo 3 speakers can compete at this point and are only one point behind the LV2 boxes. In almost all other test categories, the Xeos are attracting the competition because Dynaudio has been able to rely on proven recording studio technology. For this, they are significantly more expensive than the rest of the test field at 1,500 euros.

Measured values at a glance

Canton provides your_Duo and the associated USB dongle your_Stick only a small part of a whole wireless system. Thus, the frequency range can be expanded by almost one octave downwards with the help of a subwoofer. However, this was not part of this test. You can even use the included remote control to control the music menu of the iPhone.

The loudspeaker set Raumfeld Speaker M from Teufel WLAN access is the only test candidate. This does not depend on a proprietary wireless network like the other candidates, but can stream music directly from the Internet radio or a network hard drive.

Music streaming, whether from the Internet or from the music server in its own wireless network, that is the future. Even though all the systems in the test sometimes took a few seconds to focus on music. If you compare the benefits, these are only small bugs, which still need to be filed. Especially when you consider that you can save yourself the entire Hi-Fi towers.

Four surround speaker sets in test

With active boxes, which receive the sound signal and lead and process it digitally up to the chassis, a great leap in sound quality is possible. And many more vendors will certainly jump onto the wireless active box train - from the cheap brands in the discounter to well-known high-end luxury box manufacturers.

This test field has already shown the potential of the concept. Dynaudios Xeo 3 was more than just a fine sound: these two-way boxes with Dynaudios profi- genie's genome made it clear what is possible in this box size: not only bass and tonal balance, but also resolving power and, consequently, the reproduction of the finest Details

The Raumfeld Speaker M were able to keep up with the Danes. Bass performance was similarly potent, the tonality was similarly balanced, only the fine drawing - the space around the instruments - was slightly less pronounced.

Five micro subwoofers tested

Cantons your_Duo created an impressive bass performance for its format. In addition, there was the lack of detail with which the loudspeakers brought the finest nuances to the surface.
