After the release of the Canon EOS M3 in February, the Canon EOS M10 now follows. With the compact DSLR alternative with EF-M bayonet, Canon expands its mirrorless portfolio with a more affordable entry-level model. The system will be available from November 2017 with a kit lens at a price of 499 euros.


The Canon EOS M10 combines the DIGIC-6 image processor and an 18-megapixel sensor in the APS-C format with an integrated low-pass filter. In the autofocus, the camera focuses on the hybrid CMOS AF II system with 49-AF points. Focus Peaking is available in manual mode. The ISO sensitivity ranges from ISO 100 to ISO 12,800 and can be extended to ISO 25,600. The shutter speeds are given by Canon with 30 s to 1 / 4.00 s. The Canon EOS M10 takes up a maximum of 30 B / s in Full HD format (1.080p). According to Canon is the lithium-ion battery for 255 recordings.


For image control, the Canon EOS M10 offers a 3-inch display with approximately 1,040,000 pixels. The touchscreen is foldable by 180 degrees and Canon has integrated Selfies for Selfies. The user has to do without a viewfinder in favor of the compact design. An integrated flash (LZ 5) is available as well as a standard accessory shoe. USB and HDMI (Type-C) are available as interfaces. Via WLAN and NFC wireless image transfers to the smartphone, tablet, PC and the cloud are possible. It is also possible to use a remote control via the Canon EOS Canon Connect application.

The Canon EOS M10 is scheduled to come on the market in November 2017. Black and white are offered as color versions. The price is in the kit with the likewise new presented standard zoom lens EF-M 15-45mm 1: 3.5-6.3 IS STM at 499 euros.
