Yamaha RX-A1010: Features
The developers not only rely on their well-known digital competences, but also on mechanics. The interior design of the RX-A1010 is state-of-the-art in terms of circuit topography. Finally, it is undisputed in audiophile circles that, in addition to vibrations, the length and the conductors of the conductor tracks as well as electromagnetic interference fields significantly determine the sound Code>
Yamaha RX-A1010: Sound
What may seem strange at first sight is - strictly speaking - highly consistent. As with bicycles and cars, AV receivers' production depth is also low: Whether HDMI, an audio DSP or a video processor, device developers rely on components from less manufacturers - such as Texas Instruments or Analog Devices.
However, the new circuit layout with a central center of gravity and many stiffeners in the case plus a fifth foot in the center of the device is a Yamaha specialty.
Combined with a great finish, a chic design and a well-balanced volume knob, the new one already collects sympathy points before it has made a sound. The logical operation with tasteful 3D color menus on the video screen also contributes to the anticipation.
The RX-A1010 played with the suppleness of a cat. He produced a huge room in stereo mode, and in surround mode he was in a class of his own. With this receiver, no detail was ever so subtle. Regardless of whether he played a jazz concert with three-dimensional applause in stereo or imitated a concert hall or a battlefield in the action movie in a surround.
His space seemed complete, authentic and stable. Moving phantom sound sources can be located at any point in the room. Voices seemed slim, neither hard nor pressed. Peter Cincotti's tenor saxophone was reminiscent of Mousse au Chocolat, the bass of ginger sticks with chocolate coating. The strings could be felt on the diaphragm and swelled full. However, the virtues of films can be especially appreciated.
