The Auslogics Disk Defrag ScreenSaver uses your workouts to defrag your hard disk. The screen saver displays the current progress of the disk optimization. The longer a hard disk is in operation, the more fragmentation of the stored data increases. This means that data is no longer deposited in successive sectors but scattered on the disk. The result: When accessing the data, the read head must search and read the individual sectors one at a time – this takes time and paralyzes the entire system. The free DiskDefrag arranges the scattered data fragments successively, thus increasing the reading speed as well as the overall performance.
