ZyXEL WRE2206 in the test

Zyxel’s 300N WLAN repeater increases the range of a 2.4 GHz WLAN for wireless clients. A LAN port on the device side also connects an Ethernet client to the home network. The connection of the repeater to the WLAN router works by WPS by pressing a button. To connect clients to the repeater, press the WPS button twice. In order to access the web menu of the repeater, you need its IP address, which can be found in the client list of the WLAN router


Conclusion


The settings of the web menu are only reached when the setup wizard has been terminated with "Exit". As a maximum transmission rate, the repeater reached a good 70 Mbps in the Praxistest, bad connections, the device bridged at 30 to 40 Mbps. With a power consumption of 1.5 watts, the WRE2206 is quite economical. Good: The LEDs on the device show the (coarse) number of clients registered on the repeater as well as the connection quality to the WLAN router.
