Pokémon GO: With the next update, Niantic brings a new catch bonus, which is based on the medals.
Update publication "soon"
Niantic seems to be seriously trying to improve his communication with the community. So the developer of Pokémon GO has announced in advance a feature for the upcoming update: the catch bonus.

As Niantic explains in a Pokémon GO blog, trainers receive the catch bonus through the pokémon-related medals, such as bird catchers (for Pokémon of the Flight type) or gardeners (for Pokémon of the plant type). The catch bonuses increase the chance to catch corresponding Pokémon. The amount of the bonus is determined by the medal
Niantic explains the catch bonus by an example: Assuming a player has earned a silver hot-head medal, his catch bonus for Pokémon of type Fire, such as Glumanda, Vulpix or Ponita, increases by a factor of 2.

In Pokémon with two types of affiliation, the Catch Bonus is calculated over the average of the individual bonuses. If you want to catch a Dragonir, you would get the average of the Fang bonuses for the Pokémon types "Dragon" and "Flight". In this way, for example, one could benefit from the fact that many caught taubsis already had the gold medal "Vogelfänger".
The catch bonus can be particularly helpful for all players who are on the road with Pokémon GO Plus. Because so far one can not profit with Pokémon-catching via the gadget of throw bonuses like the Curveball. The catch bonus through medals would independently increase the chance of catching even higher-level monsters with a simple Pokéball that Pokémon GO Plus throws after pressing the LED button.
An exact date for the publication of the Pokémon GO update does not mention Niantic, it remains at a vague "soon". In the past, however, many updates appeared in the night from Monday to Tuesday, so the 10th and 11th October would be hot candidates for the rollout of the new version.
