WhatsApp account can no longer be deleted due to new terms

Until 25 September 2017 WhatsApp users had the opportunity to object to the new terms and conditions of the messenger operator. WhatsApp automatically forwards data to Facebook for those who have not filed a complaint. For this, Whatsapp has long been in the criticism. However, if you have entered a contradiction, it is no longer possible to delete your WhatsApp account. For this you would have to agree to the new terms and conditions and allow the data transfer.

Lawyers see this procedure as a clear violation of data protection law. According to lawyer Christian Solmecke of Wildebeuger Solmecke, users have "a right to immediate deletion, without first having to agree to the questionable terms and conditions."
