This allows the employee to select the fastest available driver with the necessary know-how and the appropriate equipment and assign it to the order at the click of a mouse.


This shortens the internal communication and keeps the lines of the disposition free for customer calls. In addition, this procedure results in considerably fewer errors than before, as the dispatchers passed the address by telephone and signed the drivers by hand. This avoids misunderstandings and expensive trips to wrong addresses.


The current job is transferred directly to the job list on the display of the TomTom PRO navigation device in the vehicle. From here, the installer returns status messages. These are sent to WEBFLEET, the heart of the fleet management system, via the LINK Box installed in the vehicle by mobile radio (GPRS). Thanks to an open interface, the data are automatically forwarded to the ERP system. The LINK Box is a small black box that sends position data and allows the control center to locate the vehicles.


With the status information also transmitted, the dispatcher has at all times in view of when the driver accepts the order, goes to the customer, arrives on the spot and processes the order. When the work is completed, a blue medal appears next to the order in the list. "Our dispatchers always know at an early stage, at which dates a delay may occur, and are able to inform their customers in good time," explains the authorized signatory.

With our old IT it would not have been possible to work efficiently, "says Bösner-Worth:" At that time, we had different insula- tions for individual tasks. Problematic was above all the telematics solution, which came from a small offerer and did not offer the required failure safety as well as the necessary functional range. That's why we were looking for a great vendor with a powerful and highly available solution. For TomTom Business Solutions, we chose the interface between the leading ERP systems, because we were planning to replace the legacy system from which we grew.


On the basis of the obligations of more than 50 pages, systems from different providers were examined. "The decision in favor of Sage was based primarily on the adaptability of the system to our requirements and the existing interface between Sage and the fleet management solution from TomTom Business Solutions," explains Bösner -Worth.


This interface has been further developed by our service provider Funk, Zander & Partner in accordance with our requirements towards our service center, which today is the central platform for planning and controlling our various business processes.


The different business processes of RUN 24 also place great demands on the flexibility of the solution used, especially in the field of telematics. Apart from the business with domestic wastewater treatment, the company offers a wide range of other services.
