Many companies have rented a domain at a hosting provider and use it for emails. However, only a few meet the increasing security requirements for e-mail communication. Often, the necessary knowledge is lacking in order to implement a PGP encryption. This also applies to professional groups such as doctors, lawyers, tax and property advisors, for whom encryption is indispensable by law. One solution could be StartMail: a service for existing domains, which promises the highest security and is to get the ULD privacy seal from autumn.
StartMail for companies in detail
A company needs only one administrator to set up StartMail for all employees. It first registers an account and specifies the existing domain, which can be operated with any hosting provider. The StartMail service checks the domain owner via a DNS entry with the hosting provider. If the check is positive, the administrator can purchase e-mail accounts.
A paid account is required for each employee, aliases to the accounts can be created later free of charge. After the administrator has made three more DNS entries with the hosting provider, the configuration is completed. From now on, employees can log in via the web interface and communicate via e-mail. The necessary PGP keys each user must install himself. The fact that this works with a few clicks is very good.
