Samsung has published a statement, which is soon to come a patch for the Samsung Updater. This had caused problems on some systems, because the entire Windows update routine was only switched off in favor of Samsung drivers. “We are going to release a patch in a few days, which will restore the recommended settings for Windows Update.”
Update from 29.06.2015
The Samsung Software Updater, which is pre-installed on the company's laptops, disables Windows Update - only for its own drivers.

If you have a Samsung notebook with the preinstalled software updater, you should check the Windows Update settings as soon as possible. As Patrick Barker, a developer and a Microsoft MVP (MVP), reports on his blog, the tool quickly turns off the Windows Update function.
The Samsung Software Update Tool, which Barker itself calls malware, installs a Samsung-signed program called "Disable_Windowsupdate.exe". This program ensures that the Windows updates are disabled.
Barker's demand at Samsung's support brought a reason for the potentially dangerous behavior of the update tool. This is to prevent Windows Update from overwriting the installed Samsung drivers for the laptop with standard drivers.
Our advice: Take the extra effort to locate and install drivers manually, such as on the Samsung website, instead of risking Windows becoming outdated and more vulnerable. Already in February 2017 another laptop manufacturer had pre-installed potentially dangerous software: Lenovo caused the adware "Superfish" to be a serious security vulnerability that could only be remedied by a user intervention.
