In 1972 the Magnavox Odyssey, a game console from Magnavox, was released. It was the first ever released video game console. The prototype was developed by Ralph Baer in 1968. In the United States it was marketed by ITT Schaub-Lorentz under the name Odyssey. Among the first-generation consoles are Atari’s home-pong consoles and the Coleco Telstar from Coleco.
