The new stable version 28.0.1500.95 for Windows, Mac, Linux and ChromeFrame is available for Google’s Chrome web browser. The Chrome developers have closed a total of eleven security holes. Three of these vulnerabilities have been reported by external safety researchers, who receive premiums at a total cost of $ 2,500. Chrome developers and the Google Security team discovered the remaining gaps themselves.
Google still holds detailed information on the vulnerabilities that have been removed. It points out that you want to wait until the majority of the users have updated the update. This is done regularly, especially when a program library of another producer is involved, which is also used in further projects. These include, for example, bugs in the browser engine Webkit, which, in addition to Chrome (download), are also based on Safari and Opera. Chrome and Opera may contain Google's own webkit attachment Blink, but discovered gaps may also affect Apple's webkit version.
Also the Chrome OS operating system for the so-called Chromebooks of several manufacturers have the corrections for the browser flowed. In addition, the developers have fixed a bug that can cause the Samsung Chromebook to crash when it goes into hibernation or is woken up. With the new Chromebook Pixel, the keyboard light turns off when a full-screen video is displayed. The integrated Flash Player (Pepper Flash) has also been updated. It now has the version number 11.8.800.94 - like the normal Flash Player for Windows and Mac.
