Windows 10: Redstone Updates - Release dates and details

The Redstone update for Windows 10 is about to be completed. As the IT portal “WinBeta” reports, users of the “Windows Insider Program” can already see the first changes to the user interface and the operating system with the Coming RS1 update. This allows initial conclusions to be drawn to a possible Redstone release date.

It is known that Redstone is played in two parts on Windows 10 platforms. So far, the release was designed for both RS1, the first update, and RS2 in 2017, but as WinBeta reported, these plans have now changed.

For example, the first Redstone update should be available in June for all Windows 10 devices. The main focus of RS1 is on the unification of the platforms PC, Xbox and Windows Phone and thus on the further development of the "Universal Windows Platform."

For this purpose, for example, the Windows Store should receive a version for the Xbox One. In addition, the expansion of the cross-gaming experience, including the release of exclusive titles for Xbox and the PC, is part of Microsoft's plans.

The second update RS2, on the other hand, will no longer be published in 2017 according to the report. Instead, a possible release was postponed to Spring 2017, which is supposed to be due to the compilation of the new Windows 10 builds. What features Microsoft wants to integrate into the second version of Windows 10 Redstone is still unknown, but users could learn more at the upcoming "BUILD" conference on March 30, 2017.
