And this changes with both teleconverters (350/350 euro) only moderately. While the “small” converter, especially in the corners shows somewhat weaker performance, the 2x version is at the longest focal distance with a slightly lower center contrast than the 1.4er on the road. For this zoom range and the good output light, the EF 2x II seems the more attractive choice, because the 140-400 with 5.6 opening aperture and image stabilizer extends the possibilities without too many compromises. Both solutions receive a digital recommendation.
