Multifunctional Kodak ESP9 test

The new ink multifunction device ESP9 from Kodak offers a lot of equipment in a small space.

In addition to the print, scan, copy and fax functions, an automatic duplex unit as well as card slots and a PictBridge port for direct photoprint are standard. The model can be wired or wireless (WiFi) integrated into an existing network. The local connection is guaranteed by the USB 2.0 socket. In addition to the A4 flatbed, an automatic document feeder for multi-page originals is available for scanning, copying and faxing. The printing module works with six pigment inks, which are divided into a black and a five color cartridge. The color expressions are contrast-rich and color-accurate, which applies equally to normal and photographic paper. There are some pigment outliers which are noticeable under the microscope, but they are noticeable under the microscope.

Very good is also the copying quality, here the scanning and printing module work together fast. With the sensor buttons and a large preview display, operation on the device is very simple. Faxing directly from the PC is unfortunately not possible. Something unpleasant is the loud paper feed.
