Virtual CloneDrive ensures relaxed DVD evenings
Thanks to Virtual CloneDrive you no longer have to deal with CDs, DVDs and Blu-rays. No more scratches in precious originals, with displaced discs and unnecessary luggage on the road.
For this purpose, Virtual CloneDrive will set up a virtual CD / DVD or Blu-ray drive on your PC. It's like a real drive, except for a small thing: you do not feed it with silver disks, but with image files that contain the data previously stored on CD, DVD or Blu-ray.
The free program supports ISO, BIN and CCD currently the most widely used formats for image files and is thus a good alternative to the functionally similar DAEMON Tools Lite. It can set up a maximum of eight drives at a time. To upload an image file, just double-click it.
To convert a CD, DVD, or Blu-ray to an image file, you need additional software, in addition to Virtual CloneDrive. Which you use depends on the data carrier. For CDs, for example, CloneCD is suitable, CloneDVD is suitable for DVDs and CloneBD for Blu-rays. Similar programs are also available from other manufacturers. Please note that making an image file is a copy that may violate applicable law, for example, if you bypass a copy protection.
