Youtube hit: Fanning drone films fireworks from above

With a flying drone, Jos Stiglingh filmed a firework from above and in the middle. With the impressive pictures he has now become a real Youtube hit: Over 6,000,000 times the recordings have been viewed so far. Also GoPro was impressed with the recordings: The action cam manufacturer has rearranged the video to present it on the official Youtube profile.

Also interesting is

The video was created at a fireworks show over the West Palm Beach in Florida. The action was not without danger, but nothing happened to the drone as well as to the spectators who could have been injured by a crashing drone that had been hit.

Fireworks filmed with a drone

Stiglingh used a DJI Phantom 2 drone with a mounted GoPro Hero 3 action camera. Both devices are available on the DJI homepage in a bundle for 839 euros. The Phantom 2 is a four-wing quadro-copter that is easy to control.

By being able to be upgraded by an additional camera, he is able to record HD videos directly from the air. This makes the Phantom 2 much better videos than smaller drones already equipped with an integrated camera.

The GoPro Hero 3 Action camera has no problems to capture the individual explosions and also the fast change between light and dark. Convince yourself of the fantastic pictures and see the fireworks best in HD at
