From March 5 to 9, Cebit 2013 ran and with a lot of new developments allowed an outlook on the future of IT. We have been there for you and have looked at many products, concepts and ideas for computer technologies, mobile, smart home and more. In this article, the editors Wolf Hosbach and Fabian Bambusch report on their personal product highlights from the fair. At the end of the article you will also find a gallery with many impressions from Cebit 2013.

Every year, the Cebit is a bit smaller, some halls are now completely closed - even torn - and the remaining ones are much more airy. The character of the trade fair also changes away from a large public trade fair to a business event. That is why the great highlights have become a little scarce. The biggest rush was in Hall 4 at the Microsoft stand (keyword Surface Pro) or right across from Deutsche Telekom (keyword SmartHome).

However, the main charm has been preserved over the years: the diverse international visitors. One meets one year in Hanover: British, American or Korean. Even companies, which no longer have a stand, send staff. So you sit together in the cafe, preferably in the somewhat quieter press area. New products are shown (keyword Fritzbox 7490 with 1300 MBit WLAN), often long before they reach the public (keyword Xing 2.0) or new technologies (keyword: new virus engine with G DATA). These are then small highlights in the journalism day.

Personally I was delighted that the first time in 10 years on the Cebit instead of rain- spring weather prevailed.
Buzzword, Shareconomy ': Now the sharing has also become a topic at the business level. A natural progression in response to new user behavior or complete depreciation of the property concept? A brand-new discussion topic at the Cebit.
Telekom Smart Home: A new telecom standard could make the remote-controlled home a reality. Light, heating, refrigerator and co. Can be operated by smartphone.
Microsoft Surface Pro: No other device has triggered such a user attack on Cebit as Microsoft's new power tablet.
