Less surveillance camera as a filming family member: The Logitech Logicircle documents everyday life and, if desired, sums it up in a 30-second time-lapse clip. All recordings are stored in the cloud for a maximum of 24 hours. After that, they will disappear, never to return – if the user does not download them to the App LogiCircle on their smartphone.

For a complete monitoring of the apartment, for example, during the holiday period, 24 hours of course are not enough. Logitech also knows this and is planning to extend the free offer to longer-term storage options. To watch the children play, look for a dog and a cat or get a fast run of domestic events, the current video diary is sufficient. Especially because noise and motion detection is quite clever.


Conclusion


Although there is no controller in the app to adjust the sensor sensitivity, the camera seems good in distinguishing important from trivial. Where the Withings is reported by default when it is called "Motion Detected" or the Netatmo has to be trained on familiar faces, the Logitech sends pleasantly little alarms to the mobile phone.


An important role is played by the Circle microphone. It is comparatively sensitive and can make audible noise, which in other models are already under the disturbance level. The Logitech is also suitable as a baby camera. Although the intercom function should not be overestimated: A tearful toddler or a barking dog will hardly allow itself to be soothed with the rather thin sounding loudspeaker. In principle this applies to all cameras of the test.


A big plus is the integrated battery. It makes the Circle independent of the electricity network. In the test, a charge for about twelve hours and a half of wireless operation, for example in the children's room or on the balcony. Also, to keep the Sunday cake in view through the oven window, it is a good service.


Admittedly, the storage time is limited: 24 hours of video archives demand fast action when broken at home. With its practical battery, good operation and the best data protection in the test, Logitech nevertheless manages to get the victory.
