XCOM 2 in the test
XCOM 2 in Test: The Story
With XCOM 2, a time-honored strategy game series, which began with U.F.O. Enemy Unknown began and was last represented by the 2012 release XCOM: Enemy Unknown. So now XCOM 2: a strategy game, also for console. Whether it's going well, let's check the PS4 version.
XCOM 2 in the Test: The Game Principle
The events from XCOM: Enemy Unknown are turned upside down. The aliens have taken control of the Earth and established the ADVENT regime there. But Widerstrand stirred. These are the XCOM special units, which are alien to the aliens and are mobile with their mobile control center "Avenger". The goal? The salvation of the earth. No problem or
XCOM 2 in test: The control
In XCOM 2 we have to face the aliens in the form of a round strategy game. With a team of up to six men, we are working through the numerous levels, and we have to defend the aliens. If we proceed unobtrusively, our team remains almost invisible, which in turn allows for surprises. In addition, XCOM 2 offers great basement construction, because the Avenger can be expanded. Then the game changes into a different perspective and we can see the center from the side, found new departments and install areas. Engineers can build new areas and improve existing ones, scientists are once again exploring new weapons and equipment. As resources are scarce, important decisions have to be made in all areas. Take all paths?

XCOM 2 in the test: The problems
Strategiespiele actually require a rather complicated control, the mouse and keyboard presuppose. But the developers have transferred the control model to the controller. The navigation works great! The operation of the individual team members is also quite good. Here we have the possibility to perform two actions with each member per round. Whoever lays down and lurks, does not come forward. Whoever shoots from all the pipes will find no cover. Here always precedes to think. Rambo-style? Better not.
But not everything is running at XCOM 2. The difficulty level is quite good after the start. The aliens attack in droves and decimate the team quickly. This can particularly deter beginners. In addition there are miserly long loading times, which interfere with the game flow. On the PS4, in spite of the quite nice, but by no means extraordinary graphics, occasional jerks, which one can not use at all - especially when it gets a bit hectic.
Despite the smaller technical deficits, XCOM 2 has become a real highlight. Strategically demanding round battles, a great atmosphere, good tactics and a superbly implemented control ensure that strategists with XCOM 2 finally have a challenge on the console again - there are unfortunately not too many.
