Thanks to new compression technology, WinZip reduces JPEG files (digital photos or graphics) by up to 30 percent, thus not only saving a lot of storage space. The user can send photos directly from the program via e-mail or to an FTP server. WinZip also allows you to easily manage the files and includes functions for managing and sharing images. Integrated is a photo assistant, which supports all cameras with WIA (Windows Image Acquisition) interface. This transfers photos from the camera directly to the desired archive on the PC.


The WinZip Explorer allows you to easily manage and preview photos in a ZIP archive - even in the correct horizontal and vertical orientation, as long as the camera supports alignment marks. The images do not have to be unpacked, as required by archives. Targeted moving, renaming or deletion of the images is possible here as is the conversion into common image sizes. In WinZip, new folders can be created within a ZIP file and the files contained in the ZIP file can be dragged into these folders with the mouse so that the ZIP folder structure can be easily modified if necessary.


WinZip allows you to work with other archive and data carrier formats. With support for reading and extracting 7Z archives as well as .ISO and .IMG image files and existing support for RAR, BZ2, CAB, LHA, Z, GZ, TAR, UUE, XXE, BinHex, Mime and ZIP Files, WinZip is extremely flexible.
